Protect your Children. While it holds true that the Web is a source of information for learning, a place to play games, a reference for homework help, etc., it also has a dark side. There are "grown-ups" out there posing as children, trying to meet children in chat rooms. One out of every five children in chat rooms will have some type of contact with an adult pretending to be a child or friend. One out of every thirty-three will be solicited by the same type of adult. Protect yourself. Do not ever give out information such as telephone numbers or addresses. If you suspect that the person you are "chatting" with is not who they say they are, get out of the chat room and report the incident. Don't take chances.
